My older sister bought a PlayStation® 2 for my younger sisters and me to share. We got it on Sunday and Victor brought over some games that he rented from the video store for us to play that day. We don’t have any games yet so he is lending us his Mortal Kombat game until the one I ordered last week from Kalahari.net is delivered.

Early this morning our stupid neighbor burnt the veld, again! My mother said she was awoken by loud cracking noises from the fire and when she went to see what was happening, the veld was on fire. I slept through it though…

Our neighbor burns his vacant land (I call it a veld) between our house and his instead of having someone cut it. He had someone cut it last year but this year he went back to burning the veld. Once he lit the veld during the day and some of our trees caught fire because the grass was so long that year and the fire had caught onto the lawn in our back yard… Where we had our old Audi parked on the grass! I got the fire out like a few meters before the car and my younger sisters and our other neighbor put the fire on the trees out before it spread to the rest of the trees…

The stupid man shouldn’t even be burning the land because it is surrounded by four, almost five houses, not including his and this is a residential area. He doesn’t seem to care that the fire could cause a lot of damage…

Every year he would light the veld either when we’re not (or are) at home or early morning when everyone is asleep, after making sure that his little vegetable patch and home is safe, of course. He would then lock himself in his house and act as if no one was home. When we have the fire department send out people to put out the fire, they just let it die. They would go and knock at our neighbor’s house and then leave after a while because “no one was home”. They gave him a warning the year before last but that didn’t stop him…

I wish the telephone pole in the veld had burnt down or something important because then maybe, just maybe he would be charged with something for it… Because he is just stupid and I just don’t like him.
