A Small One

Victor and I found an alternative apartment because the administrative work for the other that we had applied for is taking far too long. The letting agent of this apartment said that we could have the keys the day after our lease agreement and application has been approved; Victor will be faxing in the signed copy tomorrow. So I will hopefully be picking up the keys to me and Victor’s apartment on Wednesday. It has a bathroom, a bedroom, and a modern open plan kitchen with a small lounge… It’s much smaller compared to the other but it will do as it is just Victor and I…

Anyway, we’ll be looking for a bigger place in a better area while we’re living there. This apartment is in a very small apartment building in town and in what my mother thinks is “A bad area”, but I doubt someone will be breaking into our apartment. It is on the first floor, I don’t think anyone will steal something and make their way down and pass the ground floor with goods from our apartment and not be heard or seen. My aunt’s mother lives a block away and it’s not too far from the shops in town. We chose the apartment that is on the side which faces the sun; there was one available on the top floor but on the other side that gets no sun. Anyway, it will do…

Life is Consciousness

So far my day has consisted of mainly one thing; looking for an apartment.

Victor called me this morning after calling the letting agent and told me that they are still busy with the administration of our application and lease. He said that he answered an advertisement for an apartment in our town and that he’s made an appointment for us to have a look at it on Saturday… So we are looking for another apartment and if we find one we like, we’ll apply for it and go with whoever gets the administration done first.

I’ve spent most of my morning looking at the property papers and sending advertisements via text message to Victor so that he can call and make the viewing appointments for this Saturday. I really like the apartment we already applied for but maybe there is another apartment somewhere else that looks good too and maybe even costs less.

My engagement ring got damaged the other day, well its actually broken. One of the two joints that held the outer two bands had broke somehow. I was rubbing my right forearm with my left hand and it felt like the ring was scratching my arm, and that’s when I found it was broken. Victor thinks it was bent, so it must have been when someone touched it when I didn’t have it on. Victor said that he and I will go to a jeweler next month or so to find out if it can be fixed. I hope so because I really like my ring…

Act Quickly, Think Slowly

I felt a little lonely this weekend because Victor was away; he went to visit his parents who live in Welkom from Friday night till yesterday morning. He fetched me when he got back this side and we went to Mr. Video and rented Eragon on DVD for us to watch at his place. We smoked some cherry hubbly bubbly too; I like making circles with the smoke, well at least I try to! I felt uneasy while he was gone but I felt a little better when he got back. Some days I just wish that he’s with me all the time and doesn’t have to leave but yeah…

My younger and older sister along with my brother-in-law to be went to the cinema at Key West on Saturday and watched Pirates of The Caribbean: At World’s End. I quite enjoyed it and will be buying the DVD when I can; I like Captain Jack Sparrow… We went to the nine o’clock show that night and walked out the cinema at midnight. The mall was so dead but this town is like that anyway…

Victor called the letting agent today to find out what’s going with our lease application. She said that it is taking longer than she expected and asked Victor to fax a copy of the application and lease agreement to her; apparently the credit department or something lost the first copy that was faxed through… She said that she’ll try to speed up the process and that we shouldn’t worry as she has several of the apartments that are still available.

I haven’t had experience with this before so I don’t know if it’s taking too long or not… Hopefully we get some response this week, whether our application is approved or not. I mean it’s just about a week left till August anyway!
