We Live and Die; Christ Died and Lived!

The long, four day weekend has arrived. Well, it only officially begins in several hours but many have already left work to spend time with their loved ones at home some will be traveling to see some of their loved ones and others will be going on a little vacation during this time; Easter!

I have no idea as to what I’ll be doing this long weekend; I have no plans of my own and Bruce is going to the coast for the long weekend so I’ll be spending time at home with my younger sisters, mother and hopefully my father too. I wish he were able to have more days off besides the few that he does have off every year… I think I’m going to spend as much time with him this weekend as possible.

Apparently we (my mother, sisters and I; don’t know about my father) might be visiting my one uncle to exchange Easter goodies with my younger cousins instead of them coming here to do so, which they have been doing for some years. I’m sure that we’ll visit my grandfather too. I really hope that we will see some of our cousins this weekend; we hardly see each other. I should call them sometime tomorrow to ask what their Easter plans are and maybe we could arrange something…

I remember what Easter was like when I was younger… My parents, sisters and I would go to Easter mass in the morning and would hunt for our Easter goodies in the garden a while (after my parents hid them) arriving back home from church. Or how we used to paint on the shells of chicken eggs; we had blown out the fluids, washed and set them to dry before painting or decoupaging on them. We’d then turn them into ornaments to be hanged on bare branches to make our Easter tree. Which reminds me that we haven’t put up our Easter tree yet!

  1. Over rated, over commercialized, religious day - I distance myself!

  2. It’s so different here in Catholic countries. Easter = Holy Week and people either become verrry religious and observe all these…traditions (I wouldn’t know, I’m an atheist and I was never religious) like going to all these churches OR people see it as one long vacation and hit the beaches and party hard. Now THAT’s what I do.

  3. I’m not at all religious so I don’t really celebrate Easter. I might decorate eggs, but mostly I just like the holiday because it signifies spring.

  4. Happy easter! I hope you’re having a good weekend :D Wow, an easter tree? I didn’t know people actually did that, just Christmas, hehe. I hope you had fun setting that up. I remember my parents used to hide eggs for me, but now we just eat nice foods and that’s about it. ^^

  5. You guys put up an Easter tree? That’s really awesome! I’ve never heard of that before. I hope you have a nice Easter and are able to spend some time with your family and exchange gifts. Have a great weekend, and hopefully you and Bruce will be able to spend some time together too!

  6. *GASP* EASTER TREE!?!? Omg, I want one!! Haha. - But yeah, Easter was pretty much the same for me growing up too. Church, Easter egg painting, Easter trails & the hiding of them + Easter cartoon :) It was so much fun when I was a kid, and I especially loved all of the pretty colours that surrounded the holiday.. Pinks, blues, Purples and yellows!

Ps: Hehe, yeah i’m back. I bought sketchd in October I think.. I had a blog for like two weeks then I shut it down again. But this time, my interest actually came back.. I put a lot of hard work into my current theme (i’m wp illiterate) so i’m definately staying around for a bit :)

    I’ll link you!
