Hiatus? Maybe…

I’ve lost interest in this here website. I think I’ll be taking a hiatus for a while. That may be a long while, maybe a short one… Who knows? I’ll be back anyway. I always come back. :P

Spaceman, Oh Spaceman!

I woke up this morning in a good mood; the sun was out, I slept well and felt like today was going to be a real good day. Or at least that’s what I thought then. Now I just wish I could turn back the hands of time and relive this day, differently. I feel emotionally drained and my eyes are a little red from crying most of the day. I felt like writing when I started but I’ve just lost interest.

Long story short… My depression took over today, filled my mind with doubt and messed with my emotions. I just had one of those days today.

Spaceman, oh spaceman!
Come rescue me from this!
Calling all aliens!
Come rescue me!

Bird’s Nest

This painting by Camilla d´Errico titled, “Bird’s Nest” is just one of several of my favorite pieces of this Canadian visual artist’s work. In fact there are very few of her pieces that do not appeal to me. She is my latest favorite artist. This piece is from her solo show, “The Birds and The Bees” in Vancouver, BC.

Bird’s Nest by Camilla d’Errico

Camilla d´Errico has been drawing comic books since 2001 and had started her painting career in 2006. And is among a group of female artists, with names like Amy Sol and Audrey Kawasaki who paint females as their subjects. The emotional complexity evident in each character and the fact that every girl in her paintings always shows a different and intriguing mix of emotions is just one of the main features of Camilla d´Errico’s paintings. Her style is heavily influenced by manga and her use of bright colors and ability to convey intense emotions is a hallmark of her work. - Wikipedia
