This painting by Camilla d´Errico titled, “Bird’s Nest” is just one of several of my favorite pieces of this Canadian visual artist’s work. In fact there are very few of her pieces that do not appeal to me. She is my latest favorite artist. This piece is from her solo show, “The Birds and The Bees” in Vancouver, BC.

Bird’s Nest by Camilla d’Errico
Camilla d´Errico has been drawing comic books since 2001 and had started her painting career in 2006. And is among a group of female artists, with names like Amy Sol and Audrey Kawasaki who paint females as their subjects. The emotional complexity evident in each character and the fact that every girl in her paintings always shows a different and intriguing mix of emotions is just one of the main features of Camilla d´Errico’s paintings. Her style is heavily influenced by manga and her use of bright colors and ability to convey intense emotions is a hallmark of her work. - Wikipedia
I was just looking at my blog statistics a couple minutes ago, for the first time in a while and had realized that I was tagged by Erica. On the fourteenth of this month! That feels like so long ago for some reason unknown to me at this very moment… Anyway, here it goes!
How to play:
- Once you’ve been tagged you have to write a blog with 10 weird, random facts, habits, or goals about yourself — at the end choose 5 people to be tagged. Don’t forget to leave them a comment saying (You’re It!) and to go read your blog.
- You cannot tag the person that tagged you. So since you can’t tag me back let me know when you are done so that I can go read YOUR blog answers.
Here follows a list of Ten Random Facts About Randi:
- I have a deep, defining scar on my right hand. I got it from being burnt with a hot lighter, (a smiley) by a girl in my class, betting that it couldn’t hurt as bad as my friend had said it did. This happened in the eighth grade.
- I procrastinate way too much.
- I haven’t finished high school. I’ve only completed grade eight.
- I have
one two black hairs that grow out of the right side of my right breast. They are I guess, maybe two inches apart and one grows thicker than the other. The newfound, second hair only just appeared recently. And this is more of an updated fact from my previous list.
- I’m terrified of my parents and sisters dying.
- I’m still kinda trying to figure out what I want to do with my life.
- I scar easily.
- I have over a hundred e-books and have only read one of them.
- I cry for everything, anything and nothing if I feel the need to. I can go from crying my eyes out to laughing my ass off in the matter of seconds. One minute I’d be crying and the next I’d be laughing my ass off trying not to shoot snot out of my nose. That happens the millisecond you close your mouth while laughing, with your nose all stuffy from crying too much. Lovely, I know!
- I prefer to talk instead of type.
I now tag: David, Dimitrio, and whoever else wants to do this.
The latest stable version of K2 was finally released yesterday! I just finished porting my new layout from a previous nightly that I was messing with on my local server to this stable release that I uploaded here.
It is clean, simple and the favicon featured is Lilith; the little pixel I made last year and based my last birthday cake on! You’re able to see her blink if you are using Firefox as the animated version is displayed. She first made her internet debut on KayC’s “Advertisements” section of her sidebar. Ha, I’m weird like that… Naming my pixel creations, ornaments and whatever else.
I’ve also implemented sIFR 3 for my post and sidebar titles; I’ll probably be changing the font to another, sometime. I’m thinking of converting some free fonts to sIFR 3 font files and making them available for download on this here website. Not everyone has Flash 8 and there are also not many sites offering sIFR 3 font files anyway.
I’m pleased with this… For now that is. I’ll most probably making changes here and there, and I’ll also be adding and editing a few pages and whatnot.
What do you think about this layout?
