Fuck You, Mr & Mrs K!

Victor left for Welkom early on Christmas day as his father wanted him there because his mother was ill. He came back to Krugersdorp on January 2nd.

I wasn’t able to get a hold of Victor on his mobile phone most of the days while he was in Welkom, I only spoke to him briefly a few times when I was able to get through to him on his mobile phone.

I would call his parents’ house and ask to speak with him as I wasn’t able to when calling his mobile phone. His father would tell me that Victor was either in town, with his friend, Riaan or that “He was not there”. So I would ask Victor’s father if he could tell Victor to call me back. I called on New Year’s Eve to wish Victor a happy new year and I was told by his father that Victor was at a party at his old high school. And one time I called and I could hear Victor in the background speaking with his mother… So I thought that he was busy and once again asked to have Victor call me back.

Victor never called me back.

Victor went to get his paycheck for October on the first this month and when he got back home he told me about what happened at the office. His one coworker announced that their boss had been in a terrible car accident the night before and was in hospital…

That following Saturday Victor had taken me to the bank to get a new debit card and then do our grocery shopping for November. After I was done at the bank he told me that his pay check had not cleared yet as the bank was not able to get a hold of his boss for authorization.

His boss is stupid. He pays all of his employees with personal salary checks instead of normal paychecks because it “saves him money” to do it his way, or some bullshit.

Victor told me that the bank will take up to ten days to clear the check if they are not able to get the account holder’s authorization. So we couldn’t go to the supermarket and buy any groceries because we didn’t have any money to do so. But I bought some bread, meats and fruit with the money I had and have been doing so with whatever money I get and that Victor’s father sends us for the time being.

Since a few days after had Victor’s father been trying to get a hold of Victor’s boss but when he found out that he was in a certain hospital and was “unresponsive”, Victor’s father relaxed a little. But when he called the same hospital the following day, the hospital had “no record” of that man, Victor’s boss being admitted to that hospital. Some of the other employees also couldn’t get a hold of their boss; they too wanted the money that they had worked for…

Then that one coworker disappeared; the one that announced that their boss was admitted to hospital. No one could get a hold of her or anything. So obviously the situation became suspicious and Victor and a few of his coworkers filed a case at the police station against their boss and will be suing him not only if their pay checks don’t clear, but for the inconvenience and whatever else.

Victor has not been going to work because the police have closed down the workplace and have a couple of guards on the property to “catch” the boss or whoever tries to enter and collect anything from the boss’s house as the workplace is on the boss’s residential property.

Drama, drama, drama!

So Victor has been searching for a new job because he had been working at this DVD company as a sales rep, was working long hours, loads of hours of overtime and did not like it.

Until now because Victor just got home from a job interview… He got the job! He studied accounting and now he gets to do just that; he’s so happy. I’m happy for him too.

Things seem to be getting better!

Meet Kairi

Kairi's not-so-good angleThis is my new “baby”, Kairi. She’s an ornament molded from plaster of paris and was painted by a man that has a stall at the B&B Markets at Hillfox. I’ve gotten comments on Kairi, saying that she looks like she is made of metal, but really she is just made of plaster of paris and paint. This man paints these molds really well, I think! She looks a little different in the photo to the right, maybe it was the flash of my camera, I don’t know. Victor bought her for me yesterday afternoon. That was when we took his friends, Riaan and Tanya to Hillfox because they were going to meet up with another friend of theirs before heading back to Welkom. They didn’t know how to get to Hillfox, so Victor and I thought that we’d show them the way and take a look at the B&B Markets while we were there.

My baby, KairiI hadn’t been to Hillfox for years; I don’t remember how old I was when I was last there… But I do remember that the last time I was there, a man had thrown his lit cigarette bud and it had landed on one of the toes of my right foot. I don’t know why I remember that… Anyway, it was nice to go there again.

We had Victor’s friends, Riaan and his fiancé Tanya over this past weekend. They stayed over from Friday night till yesterday afternoon. They are nice people but I just don’t like Tanya’s attitude. First she insulted me on my wanting to purchase a pair of white polka dotted black flat shoes while we were shopping at Clearwater Mall on Saturday night. Then after her raving about how “Adorable” the shirt that I was going to buy my niece for Christmas was, she comes up to me while I’m waiting in the queue and complains about how horrid the pink items I was buying as gifts were.

Oh and not to mention how she reacted to the little girl running down the corridor, yelling “Ah, ah, ah!” in Clearwater Mall. Tanya imitates herself strangling and shaking the child to death saying, “Ah, ah, ah… Oh wait isn’t that the noise they make when you stomp on them?!” And then she giggles. Also when I was looking for an outfit for my niece for Christmas, Tanya couldn’t help but go on and on about how she hated “The little brats” and that she doesn’t want any.

OK, Tanya! I get the point, you don’t want children; good for you. Now would you stop telling us how much you hate children every time you see one or something that is related to a child. It is fucking annoying to hear that more than anything else you happen to say!

I swear it’s like she could brainwash someone with the way she talks. Maybe she had already done that to Riaan because Victor says that before Tanya, Riaan used to really want children someday but now he doesn’t?

I wonder what, or should I say who changed his mindset…
