Where The Fuck Is It?!

On Sunday I had received a Kalahari e-voucher as a late birthday gift from my Australian friend, Mark. So that night I ordered a PlayStation® 3 game; Folklore™ and a few DVDs, I was so excited because I was getting my first PlayStation® 3 game.

Kalahari dispatched the parcel on Monday and I was supposed to have received the game at my door yesterday between eight o’clock that morning to five o’clock that evening… But I didn’t receive it!

At the end of the day I was disappointed because I had always received my order on the set delivery date. Except for that one time when I wasn’t at home on the set delivery date but had gotten it the day after.

So I was expecting it to arrive today…

I continuously checked on the main entrance to our apartment building throughout the day, just as I did yesterday. Even whenever I heard someone shut their car door closed, I’d quickly make my way to the window to just to check if it was the delivery van. Victor had even called the company that provides the tracing for the parcels. He was put on hold and the line was dropped from company’s end; so Victor called back and asked if they could tell him when the parcel will be delivered as it is via their company. He was told that we would have to sort it out with Kalahari and not with them. So Victor called Kalahari and enquired about my parcel, only to have the call cut off as his airtime ran out before he was able to find out what was going on with the parcel.

I didn’t receive my parcel today either. I wonder why it hasn’t been delivered yet as after moving in here I had received my last order on its set delivery date, just like when I was still living with my parents.

And there’s no way I’m setting my orders delivery option for collection at the post office. Not after what happened with my last Amazon order.

Is it so hard to mail or deliver something to my apartment address? It’s either not completely stated on the item or the delivery guy… Well I don’t know what is up with the damn delivery service, yet!

Where the fuck is it?!

A Whip Made of Silk Can Still Do Harm

I’m not going to lie and say that I have been so busy that I haven’t had time for this website. Yes, I’ve been busy and I just haven’t really felt like posting a blog entry because I’ve been feeling off lately and was just not in the mood anyway. And this site isn’t listed really high on my priority list lately too.

So Victor’s new work still hasn’t called him in to work yet; some delay with the contract or whatever. It’s a good thing he’s applying at other companies because if this accounting firm is taking him for a ride… I don’t know about him but I’d be really pissed because they told him he has been accepted and will call him in to sign the contract when he starts there. We’ll see. Hopefully soon!

Almost a month ago I had ordered a couple things on Amazon with a couple gift certificates that I received for my birthday. The package was supposed to arrive here last Tuesday… But because I didn’t receive the notice for collection from the post office, I decided to go over there on Friday to find out what happened to my package. After having one of the post office officials check if my package was in their possession, I am told that the notification was in fact sent out. I complained that I didn’t receive it and handed over my identity document for verification, signed for my package and left.

The address on the package was correct but the address on the post office form was incomplete as it didn’t have my apartment number, only the building number and street name. So I’m wondering if the notification was slipped into the mailbox of the apartment corresponding with the building number. Fuck knows. I have concluded that some post office officials don’t have the ability to read and write the correct address. I mean, really, is it too complicated to just type out the exact address that is on the package?

If I didn’t go to the post office to find out where my package was, I would have never received it because after a certain amount of days after your notice is sent out and your package is not collected… The post office keeps it; and that’s not nice at all!

Tarot deck and book about tarotI bought a tarot deck and a book about learning tarot. I’ve always wanted to learn how to read tarot cards and now I can start learning, some time, I guess as it isn’t high on my priority list either. I like the tarot deck. The images are collages from artwork of the late Middle Ages and early Renaissance; the golden gilded edging of the cards just make them even more lovely to look at, I think.

STFU FNB!

I went to the bank on Saturday morning to get a new debit card because the one I possessed had expired. I was waiting in the short but slow queue for more than thirty minutes and noticed that some people from the long but moving queue for the “Express tellers” came and took my place at the “New cards” teller. That pissed me off so I complained to a supervisor and was taken to one of the tellers to get my new card.

I tell the teller that I need a new card because mine had expired, so she takes my ID book and old card to the back, I assume and came back along with my new card. She sits down and starts “linking” the new card and PIN to my account and after a few minutes she excuses herself because she brought the wrong card. So off she goes to the back and returns after several minutes and proceeds to link the card and PIN again with this other card.

She types away on the keyboard in front of her and hisses every time after she hits enter. She tells me that she can’t get the card linked to my account and will call her supervisor to help her. Her supervisor comes over and shows the teller what she was doing wrong and walks away as the teller begins to link the card again, “Please don’t go…” whines the teller to her supervisor, but she doesn’t listen. After a few minutes the teller hands me my ID book, new card and PIN receipt and asks me what I would like my ATM withdrawal limit to be.

She asks me if R2000 is fine, well it sounded like she said “two thousand”, I wasn’t sure so I asked “R2000?” to verify. She nodded and I said yes. I then have to sign for this ATM withdrawal limit and before I do I noticed that it showed 1000 instead of 2000. “Wasn’t this supposed to be two thousand?” I ask the teller. “I asked if one thousand was ok and you said yes.” I tell her that I asked for a limit of R2000, not R1000. She then makes it so and I sign for it, thank her and walk away with Victor and my new debit card.

I log onto the website that night to register for online banking and get an error after submitting my registration saying, “The card number and PIN do not match.” So I try it once more and it gives me the same error. I don’t even bother to try a third time because it says that three incorrect entries will result in a cancelled card. So I email the FNB support about this issue.

This afternoon I got a call from an FNB support agent. She asks me for my account number to check what’s wrong on their side. She then asks me why they gave me a new card when they were going to close my account, which was yesterday. I asked her why my account had been closed and she tells me it was due to inactivity over thirty days…

After that call, I get on the phone and call the branch where my account was held and asked why they gave me a new card… Only to close my account yesterday due to inactivity over thirty days when there were times I had not used my account for a few months at a time and only now they want to close it… And what had happened to my funds?

Well you are going to have to come here and talk to someone about it or open a new account. Enjoy your day, goodbye.

That was the only response I got before the woman hung up the phone.

What the fuck?

Tomorrow Victor is going to take me to that FNB branch to find out what is going on and see if I can get my account reopened. If not, I’m going to Absa to open a new account, I think.

I don’t remember how much money I had in that account of mine and if there was any, I want it back. Plus last Thursday I had over R1000 being wired into that account via MoneyBookers from my friend, David. If that money had gotten into my account before FNB closed it, I am going sue them because they “stole” it and secondly, I didn’t get any notice in regards to my account being closed.

I am not in a good mood at all today.

Oh but last night for dinner, I ate the best bolognaise I had ever made. Definitely the best I had ever made.
