A Small One

Victor and I found an alternative apartment because the administrative work for the other that we had applied for is taking far too long. The letting agent of this apartment said that we could have the keys the day after our lease agreement and application has been approved; Victor will be faxing in the signed copy tomorrow. So I will hopefully be picking up the keys to me and Victor’s apartment on Wednesday. It has a bathroom, a bedroom, and a modern open plan kitchen with a small lounge… It’s much smaller compared to the other but it will do as it is just Victor and I…

Anyway, we’ll be looking for a bigger place in a better area while we’re living there. This apartment is in a very small apartment building in town and in what my mother thinks is “A bad area”, but I doubt someone will be breaking into our apartment. It is on the first floor, I don’t think anyone will steal something and make their way down and pass the ground floor with goods from our apartment and not be heard or seen. My aunt’s mother lives a block away and it’s not too far from the shops in town. We chose the apartment that is on the side which faces the sun; there was one available on the top floor but on the other side that gets no sun. Anyway, it will do…

‘Cause I’m Just a Little Girl You See

My most recent Kalahari.net purchasesMy most recent Kalahari.net purchases were delivered on Friday afternoon… So besides a few DVDs, I also purchased my first PlayStation® 2 game; Rayman: Raving Rabbids. Sure it is a children’s game but I bought it because every other game I wanted to buy was out of stock and I happen to like little evil bunnies. The game is also PlayStation® 3 compatible, so when Victor and I are living together and I have the urge to play this game, I can do so on his PlayStation® 3. Anyway, I played it for about half an hour and then handed it to my youngest sister to play. She seems to like the game; she sat in the lounge playing till late the other night…

Thanks to Master* for helping me out with buying the game!

Things I bought from the Chinese flea marketcVictor and I headed out to the Chinese mart around seven o’clock on Saturday morning and got there around eight. Hardly any stalls were open when we first went to have a walk about so we went back to the car and Victor taught me how to play Magic: The Gathering. When there was more people showing up we got out and had a look at the stalls and did some slight shopping. I bought some beads, a cross pendant and pins to make a rosary, a few cute notebooks and I also bought a pack of really nice navy and silver gift bags…

After we had looked around and bought what we wanted, we had sweet and sour prawns with rice for lunch at one of the small Chinese restaurants there. We were served with peanuts while our lunch was being prepared, Victor was using chopsticks and I wanted to try… I thought I would make such a mess if I even tried but I didn’t make any sort of mess… Well, I did drop one or two peanuts but I’m quite impressed with myself as this was the first time I ate with chopsticks!

After lunch we headed off to Westgate and on the way there an old man overtook a taxi… As we got to the robot the taxi had pulled the front of the taxi in front of the old man’s car and was waving a wheel spanner while shouting at the old man, shouting “Voetsek” and threatening him… As the light turned green, everyone drove off as if nothing happened… When I saw the taxi driver waving that wheel spanner, I thought he was going to throw it at the old man’s car or something.

Taxi drivers… Just another reason as to why I hate this country… They act as if they own the road, driving the way they want and doing what they want on the road…

My MTG deck and cardsAt Westgate I bought The Guardian on DVD, I have yet to watch this movie; I bought it because my younger sister said it was a good movie… I also bought a MTG deck along with a couple booster packs from BT Games. Apparently these cards are hard to find here… I used to have some MTG cards when I was younger but I don’t know what happened to them, I must have given them away or something. Back then they weren’t hard to find as it is today. I like MTG, mainly because of some of the artworks on the cards and playing the game is a little fun.

On Sunday we went back to Westgate to exchange a DVD Victor bought the day before because it was skipping when we played it… But Victor couldn’t find the receipt so we went to BT Games and bought ourselves a few MTG booster packs then had some lunch before heading to his place. The rest of the day was filled with playing MTG, surfing the web and laziness…

I’m running out of disk space on my PC; I need to sort this out…

Bad and Good

Home has become a place filled with lots of fighting and stress lately… Actually fighting and stress are quite the norm here but lately things have been getting worse…

The tenants that had been renting a part of my father’s building decided that they would pack up and leave without notice this past Saturday… Not to mention running off with thousands of rands owed to my father for rent after destroying the counter (which belongs to my father) on their way out. There were a lot of things happening that day involving threats made to my father, fighting and the police…

This is not the first time that someone has run off owing my father money… This time my father is going to sue these people. The previous tenants that owe my father money for rent had disappeared could not be found my father’s lawyer and whatnot so my father could not sue them…

My father and I went to his property on Monday morning to take photos of how the tenants had left the place… I felt sick the moment I had walked into that place, it smelled horrible. The counter was in pieces on the floor and the place was filthy, not only inside but outside the side door, there were stinking garbage bags piled against the wall and cigarette buds all over… Inside one of the kitchen sinks were rotting potato fries, I do not even want to know how long they had been there for but the smell was vile. There were garbage bags inside the place too and the floors stained and grimy as if they had never washed the floors. It was all disgusting!

So my father has lost more money and with less money coming in at his shop, money is going to be an issue because he has to pay his lawyer to take these fuckers to court and sue them…

And I thought that this year was starting off better than last year… In regards to family, that is…

Oh but there was some good that came out of Saturday… Besides spending the day with Victor (which is always good) and some family at my younger cousin’s birthday, a very special kind of good has come for my whole family… My aunt gave birth to her daughter on Saturday! I have a new cousin and I can not wait to meet her…
