I received an email earlier from Vincent Maher, cofounder of AMATOMU. He and Matthew Buckland are hosting Bloggerati Joburg this Saturday evening… Bloggerati is a party that Matthew and Vincent throw for bloggers, geeks, technologists and generally interesting people to network, socialize and have a good time.
Anyway, the thing is that I have been invited!
This is something that is very exciting for me as this is a Bloggerati event. Some big names of the South African blogosphere will be attending!
I need to find someone that will be willing to take me there and attend this party with me. Maybe one of my cousins? I doubt it… I don’t know. I really want to go though!
Not to self: Stop putting off learning how to drive and get your fucking license already!
So my plans for my act of kindness for today didn’t go go as I as planned. But I did send David a header graphic for his website. I didn’t spend too much time on it as I haven’t been on my computer much these past several days. It’s nothing grand but hopefully he’ll like it.
My mother had a busy day today, she had to attend a funeral, help my father out at the shop and come home every now and then to check on my younger sisters and cook. So when she was about to hang the wet laundry up to dry, I told her to leave it and get get herself ready as she was in the middle of doing so for funeral. So I picked up the basket and hung the wet laundry for her.
These may not be great Acts of Kindness but it’s not like they weren’t done from the heart. After all, what would an act of kindness be if it wasn’t from the heart.
Bloggers Unite challenges bloggers everywhere, on December 17th, to do something good offline — an act of kindness — and then post about it on their blogs, using words, pictures, and/or videos to tell the story. The Acts of Kindness bloggers unite challenge aims at putting a human face on bloggers who are responsible for so much good in the world. The goal is to expose their kindness and generosity as well as serve as an example to non-bloggers that volunteering for a charity, donating to a cause, or simply doing something kind for another person has a ripple effect around the world.
“Maybe 20,000 bloggers, vloggers, and photographers will make a difference.”
- Bloggers Unite
I’ve already started working on one something towards my “Act Of Kindness” for that day but I’m thinking of doing another thing too… But I’m not sure of what exactly, yet as I have do have a few ideas. I just can’t decide on one!
What will you be doing for your act of kindness on December 17th, 2007?
