Hello Again, FNB

I went to FNB on Tuesday morning to find out why my account had been closed and what exactly had happened to the funds that were in my account. Again I was in the shorter queue but after standing there for over twenty minutes, I decided to just go over to Absa and open a savings account there and deal with FNB afterwards. So I opened an account at Absa and after that that I went to FNB, saw that the queue I needed to be in was much longer and then just came back home because I didn’t want to stand in that queue for God knows how long.

I came back home and said to Victor, “You know, I should’ve opened a new account at FNB because I know that their SMS notification is free. Absa charges me what? 40c or something the lady said?” I went online to Absa’s website to read about the new account I just opened with them and compared it to the one I wanted to open at FNB. Internet banking, cell phone banking and SMS notification is free with FNB and none of those are free with Absa. Like to use Absa’s internet banking facility, you have to pay about R20 per month and the SMS notifications are charged at 40c…

Why should I pay for something when I could get it for free somewhere else?

So the next day I went to Absa and closed my account. I then went over to FNB and after a few minutes of standing in the queue a consultant walked up to me and asked what I would like to do. I told him that I wanted to open a new account because mine had been closed and he told me to come over to his desk where I would be able to open up a new account. Before we proceeded with opening my new account, I asked the consultant if he would just check and tell me what had happened with my account that had been closed.

I give him my old account number and he checks… He tells me that it was closed and that I did in fact have no funds in the account at the time it was closed. He showed me on the computer monitor that I had withdrawn the last of my funds a few months ago.

I thought that I had some money in there and also thought that the money my friend, David wired to me had already reached the account a couple of days before the account had been closed. I thought wrong!

Now I have a new account at FNB and plan on keeping it active.

Oh and I should also start putting my savings into there and not my piggy bank… That includes all the five cent coins I have in that thing!

What a Waste

I’ve never had my nails done before. Well, I have but it was just for the girl’s practical exam as she was attending a course and needed to the hands of several girls for her exam. Anyway, on Tuesday afternoon I went over to my aunt’s new salon to get acrylics done, free of charge.

It was nice. Having my nails done, that is… But afterwards I regretted it. I doubt that my aunt had done them properly because about an hour or so after leaving her salon, the acrylics started to lift from a couple of my fingernails. They weren’t even done properly as near my cuticle, the acrylic was put on too far or right onto my cuticle…

Yesterday they started lifting more and have been coming off one by one. The first two snapped off when I was pulling my bed to get something that had rolled far underneath it. And it hurt when that happened but after that the others just lifted so much that they just came off. Less than an hour ago had the last acrylic come off. Now I’m left with my damaged natural nails.

Hopefully tomorrow I can hopefully buy something to apply onto my nails to strengthen and nourish them because they are thinner than before and look terrible.

Oh and when I can afford to, I’m going to a reputable salon to get my nails done properly.

Meet Kairi

Kairi's not-so-good angleThis is my new “baby”, Kairi. She’s an ornament molded from plaster of paris and was painted by a man that has a stall at the B&B Markets at Hillfox. I’ve gotten comments on Kairi, saying that she looks like she is made of metal, but really she is just made of plaster of paris and paint. This man paints these molds really well, I think! She looks a little different in the photo to the right, maybe it was the flash of my camera, I don’t know. Victor bought her for me yesterday afternoon. That was when we took his friends, Riaan and Tanya to Hillfox because they were going to meet up with another friend of theirs before heading back to Welkom. They didn’t know how to get to Hillfox, so Victor and I thought that we’d show them the way and take a look at the B&B Markets while we were there.

My baby, KairiI hadn’t been to Hillfox for years; I don’t remember how old I was when I was last there… But I do remember that the last time I was there, a man had thrown his lit cigarette bud and it had landed on one of the toes of my right foot. I don’t know why I remember that… Anyway, it was nice to go there again.

We had Victor’s friends, Riaan and his fiancé Tanya over this past weekend. They stayed over from Friday night till yesterday afternoon. They are nice people but I just don’t like Tanya’s attitude. First she insulted me on my wanting to purchase a pair of white polka dotted black flat shoes while we were shopping at Clearwater Mall on Saturday night. Then after her raving about how “Adorable” the shirt that I was going to buy my niece for Christmas was, she comes up to me while I’m waiting in the queue and complains about how horrid the pink items I was buying as gifts were.

Oh and not to mention how she reacted to the little girl running down the corridor, yelling “Ah, ah, ah!” in Clearwater Mall. Tanya imitates herself strangling and shaking the child to death saying, “Ah, ah, ah… Oh wait isn’t that the noise they make when you stomp on them?!” And then she giggles. Also when I was looking for an outfit for my niece for Christmas, Tanya couldn’t help but go on and on about how she hated “The little brats” and that she doesn’t want any.

OK, Tanya! I get the point, you don’t want children; good for you. Now would you stop telling us how much you hate children every time you see one or something that is related to a child. It is fucking annoying to hear that more than anything else you happen to say!

I swear it’s like she could brainwash someone with the way she talks. Maybe she had already done that to Riaan because Victor says that before Tanya, Riaan used to really want children someday but now he doesn’t?

I wonder what, or should I say who changed his mindset…
