Special Treatment

Yesterday afternoon I went to Mirrors, my brother’s fiancé’s hair salon and got my hair cut, dyed and styled by my brother. My friend, David had sent me the money for me to get my hair done and because I only received it into my account yesterday, I made an appointment for that afternoon.

My appointment was at half past two yesterday afternoon with Alex, my brother’s fiancé but when I got there he told me that my brother will be doing my hair… I left the salon at around quarter to six o’clock that evening. My hair had to be cut first then dyed and then styled and thinned after that. Because I had thick hair I had to pay double for the amount of dye that was used. I think that he could have done all the cutting and then dyed. Then I would have had to pay less than what I had to… Anyway it came out really good; I shouldn’t have doubted my brother. He never cut my hair before so I was a little worried until I saw the final result. My hair is now thinner, shorter; definitely more manageable and black; my favorite color and I love it! The only thing that needs getting used to is my fringe. But all and all, he did a pretty fucking good job!

Woolworths gift card from my friend, DavidI had a couple hundred rand left so I bought a bottle of hair color protecting shampoo and conditioner for my hair. And a ceramic straightening brush that I can use with my hairdryer because I never have had one of those brushes before.

A little after six o’clock last night I received a big brown bag via courier. Inside that big brown bag was a credit card size Woolworths gift card; such a small thing delivered in a large bag… The lovely black gift card was sent to me by David and was to be used for grocery and necessity shopping! As Victor and I are trying to make it this month with the very little funds that we have right now, receiving this gift card was a really great gift and really made my day today…

There is Never Enough Time

Watch I assembledTo the right of this post is a photo of my latest craft; I haven’t made anything in a while…

I bought the watch face on my last visit to the Chinese flea market, AKA “China Mart” and bought the faux pearl beads a couple of months ago.

The watch face cost me R25, that’s alot less than what one would have to pay at an art and craft store. The beads cost me less than R30 for a long string; they’re faux pearl beads anyway.

I made this last Friday afternoon, the day before my niece’s baptism, just so I could add a little something to what I was wearing and because I was bored that Friday afternoon. I put each bead on a wire pin as I didn’t have any other wire, making three chains and attached them to the watch face. Nothing fancy but I like it.

A lot of things are going to be happening tomorrow. I’ll be meeting my fiancé’s parents for the first time and something else. Yeah, I’m moving out tomorrow, finally the day is really close! Anyway, I will blog again after tomorrow… Well actually, depending on when I can next get online that is. We might only have internet access by sometime in October, if not sooner.

I will be updating on Twitter often, so keep an eye on my Twitter page or subscribe to the RSS feed, if you’re into that sort of thing.

Oh, how will I survive without the internet?!

I have packed up all of the kitchen and decorative goods already and still have to pack up all my clothes and all my other stuff. So I have some more packing to do and I also have to iron the curtains that my fiancé and I bought last weekend for our bedroom, before I go to bed tonight.

So much to do, so little time!

Selfish Bitch

Moving out has been postponed to September. This is because Victor’s current landlord is a selfish bitch and won’t let Victor vacate her premises without paying the rent for the three months remaining on the lease agreement. Though that term is not clearly stated on the lease agreement, it is stated there and so we can’t do anything about it, except pay.

I’ve never heard of this before. It is stupid. I only know of lease agreements that state that the lessee should give one month’s written notice and must pay that month’s rent before vacating the premises. Two months notice in some cases.

Victor said he will be staying at his current residence till the beginning of September and will pay August and September’s rent along with his deposit to pay for October’s rent… Then he would have done his part according to the lease agreement before he can move out.

His landlord even has the nerve to ask Victor for an extra hundred rand or so every month to “help” her pay the water and lights… Even though Victor is only there at night except for weekends and doesn’t even use much of the water or electricity. He’s no longer going to provide extra because he’s had enough of it.

So we are on the hunt for yet another apartment. Victor’s father wants to help by paying the deposit for the apartment we chose; his parents will also be bringing us some furniture to use until we buy our own. I think that Victor wants to buy a queen size bed this Saturday that will be stored at my parents’ house until we move out in September.

I’m a little upset about not being able to move out this month but I am actually a little more excited because we could find a bigger place; one that we’ll maybe stay at for a year or so…

My birthday is about two months away! I can’t wait for it; not only because I’ll be a year older but because it will be my first birthday spent with Victor. This year is going by fast; I remember how slow the days seemed to pass by when I was in school. The years seem to go by faster as I get older, or so it seems…
