There have been a lot of power outages throughout our town and other areas lately. Once the power went out just after I had cooked dinner the other night and the power only came back on a few hours later. The power was out for a few hours for some days and it would happen at the moment when I was busy with something. When I was writing a blog entry, watching a DVD or doing something else on my computer, the power went out. It is so frustrating! Like when I wasn’t saving whatever I was busy with and lost it at that moment when the power went out.

So with the thunderstorms summer brings and the power outages we’re without the television, computer and our other electrical entertainment… Then Victor and I would play Magic: The Gathering. With my Time Spiral theme deck, Fun with Fungus; I’ve won the last several games that we have played. I’m quite impressed with myself because I haven’t been playing long. I’m getter better and better, or so Victor says… In an effort to win, Victor had tweaked his deck after each time I had won but he still hasn’t won.
Now he’s jealous and wants the same deck that I have been using lately because he thinks it’s “powerful”. I don’t know if it really is or not, I just like it because I win when playing with it. He had his turn of winning all the time, now it’s mine!
The sky has been filled with gray clouds the whole day. The trees swaying about in the cold wind; it is quite dull outside today. I think that it is a perfect day to stay indoors under a blanket watching a movie with a cup of hot chocolate…
Instead I had spent my morning running after my niece; she is so full of life. I wish I had half of her energy right now because I am really tired! I hadn’t been able to do anything much as I had to keep an eye on her while she’s running around. I had gotten her to sleep earlier but not even ten minutes in dreamland was enough for her. She woke up and started whining in the crib trying to get out, so then it was back to watching her wonder about and play with her in the lounge.
Now that my mother and younger sisters are home, they can watch her while I sort out some downloads on my PC and then go and pack away my clean laundry.
This past weekend seemed to go by so fast! Victor and I had a braai at his place on Saturday to celebrate our six month anniversary. He made the fire and I cooked the meat; I ended up smelling like a braai myself! I like braais, especially in summer; meat off the braai with some potato salad and a cold glass of juice or soda… Oh, I am so craving those summer days!
I’ve been downloading content for The Sims 2 for my sisters and I as my father had upgraded his computer’s RAM; now the game runs smoothly instead of lagging like before. My sisters had been hogging it for days and I hadn’t had a chance to play until this morning while they were at school. I got bored a while after of making a family and starting with their house. I’ll finish it tomorrow maybe, if I’m in the mood…
I want to start making custom content for The Sims 2; clothes, bedding, recolors… I don’t know, I guess that I’ll see in time because my computer is a bitch. I’m running out of space on my hard drive so I have to sit down here and sort through my files and keep what I actually want and need. It’s really slow and I want to upgrade it when I can afford to so that I could have a game or two installed.
I’ve finally been able to download Harris Tweed’s song, Superfly. It’s my song of the moment and I’ve been listening to it way too much over the last forty eight hours… The lyrics “Superfly with no goodbye” is being played over and over in my head like a scratched record and it’s stuck like that. I can’t get that song out of my head! I have to buy their CD as soon as I can; not only because I like that song and that they sound great, but because they’re local too!
