Making Your WordPress 2.5 Admin Fluid - A Fix

Are you a WordPress 2.5 user and are annoyed that the content in the administration area only caters for screen resolutions of up to 1024×768… What about higher screen resolutions? There is a way to make the content fluid without editing the code of any WordPress core files. This is done by using a plugin called, “Admin Big Width” by XoraX.

But wait, there is one little problem! The plugin does not apply fluidity to the alerts that appear above the content when activating a plugin or updating options, for example. And the author did not end the PHP code. I decided to fix the plugin for myself when I had noticed that the alerts were not fluid after activating this plugin.

The fix is very simple. All I had done was open the original plugin in a text editor and replaced .wrap with .wrap, .updated, .error and added the closing code ?>

Refer to this text file to see what the code of the plugin looks like after my fix. You can save the text file, renaming it’s extension to .php and upload it to your plugins directory if you wish.

I just thought I’d share this fix in case someone wanted to not only have the WordPress administration content fluid but the alerts as well.

Very simple, no?

I’m Not Confused, I’m Just Well Mixed

I have a concussion. Or so I am told…

I was in my bathroom yesterday morning getting to ready to go out with Victor. My phone rang and I knew it was Victor calling as I had sent him a message asking him to do so. So me being the clumsy being that I am, decided to trip and bang my head against the wall before answering the phone. I banged my head hard. So hard that I felt like passing out right then and there next to my bed.

My head hurts, the room seems to be moving when I’m still and I’m feeling slightly nauseas too. I can’t laugh hard, cough or cry because when I do, my head hurts in a strange way.

My mother wants my father to take me to the hospital for some treatment but it really doesn’t feel too serious. It’s just really uncomfortable.

I just upgraded my WordPress installation with the latest security-related release that is available. Some bugs have been fixed and it’s always best to be up to date anyway. So if you’re using WordPress and haven’t upgraded, go ahead and do yourself a favor and download it.

I need to fix up my my links page. The CSS is a little messed up since I had updated my K2 theme. I’m thinking of changing the coding a bit and adding some new links. There are a few blogs that I have recently started reading that I fancy…

I also need to sort out my blog categories. I have been using them more as tags and not as categories as they should be. I should maybe install a tagging plugin. I’ll sort it out later because I need to first find out how to go about it.

It’s Been A While

Yeah, I know… It has been a while… I had lost my interest towards this website of mine and hadn’t really done anything with it for a couple of months… I tend to lose interest in many things. After some time I’ll find some interest and go with it again, pretty much like this website.

Anyway, what have I been up to these past couple of months? Well, besides being the lazy ass that I am, I honestly haven’t done anything really productive…

Items purchased at the Chinese flea market near Gold Reef CityI went to the Chinese flea market near Gold Reef City for the first time and with the little money I had that day, I was able to buy some nice things. There are so many things there… I bought myself my first few pairs of toe socks amongst some other things. I really just went to buy some skull pendants that my older sister had bought from there but I wasn’t able to find any… Maybe next time…

Items purchased at the Chinese flea market near Gold Reef CityVictor and I are engaged to be married! He proposed on the evening of May 2nd… Sure it is quite soon to get engaged but I am happy and he is happy, that is all that matters. We will be moving into our first place in a few months or so… I can’t wait till we start looking for a place.

Gifts from KoitsuOver two weeks ago, I had received a notice in the mail saying that I had a parcel to pickup from the post office. I had no idea as to who sent the parcel and I wasn’t expecting anything in the mail at that time, so I was curious and excited because I hardly receive mail anyway. The next morning I went to the post office, got the package and as I walked out of the post office, I looked at the package and noticed a Fetish Factory sticker on it and right then I knew what was inside and who it was from…

I opened the package as soon as I got home and inside I found three pairs of socks, a pair of arm warmers, a couple promotional flyers and a note that said that these items were bought off of my wish list… Thank you, Koitsu*!

Artwork on a wall inside of Zeplin's nightclubAbout two weeks ago I went to a nightclub for the first time… Victor took me to Zeplin’s nightclub in Pretoria on the 12th. We drove almost an hour to get there and an hour to get back… So because of that and my midnight curfew, we had to leave before The Awakening got on stage. I really wanted to see them play as I have never seen a live band. Victor showed me around and I took some photos of the artwork on the walls inside of the nightclub before it got busy. I enjoyed myself that night even though I didn’t dance… I can’t dance to save my life anyway!

I upgraded my WordPress installation and my K2 files, also changed the default K2 style for a little visual change on this website. I’m sick of the layout I had on here for so long. I’ll come up with something better, whenever…
